C10 Never fear
Heather’s here
This week has been somewhat up and down. As I approach the end of an era in relation to my school teaching and continue in the direction of my heart, life is becoming increasingly uncertain. I have kept up my reading of Og Mandino’s ‘The Greatest Salesman in the World’ which we started at the beginning of the Master Key Course and this month I am reading Scroll IX which says, “My procrastination which has held me back was born of fear and now I recognise this secret mined from the depths of all courageous hearts. Now I know that to conquer fear I must always act without hesitation and the flutters in my heart will vanish. Now I know that action reduces the lion of terror to an ant or equanimity.” Equanimity – mental or emotional stability or composure, especially under tension or strain; calmness; equilibrium.
Most days I feel inspired, courageous and exhilarated…..and yet occasionally……..huh-oh…. 🙁 Oh how fragile the mind still is sometimes even after months of focus and intention! The thing that has changed beyond doubt is my ability to override the negative. It may take a few minutes, a couple of hours or even a couple of days depending on how much attention I have given to it, but my dream is certainly still intact and my heart is focused. The cement has most definitely fallen off the Golden Buddha in clumps and not even the toughest super glue could reconstruct the person who was!
When you know if you don’t do something you will regret it for the rest of your life then its time to throw caution to the wind and follow your heart. “I will act now. I will act now. I will act now. Henceforth I will repeat these words again and again and again, each hour, each day, every day, until the words become as much a habit as my breathing and the actions which follow become as instinctive as the blinking of my eyelids. With these words I can condition my mind to meet every challenge which the failure avoids”. (Og Mandino)
So what do you do when you feel a bit stuck and are not sure what action you need to take? This is where the help of a Mastermind is invaluable. No man (or woman) is an island, and we all need support, encouragement and a fresh pair of eyes to help avoid the icebergs. This evening I had the opportunity and privilege to share some concerns with one of my fellow MKMMA students, Heather Plude, which really helped. Thank you so much Heather….. and now to the drawing board to add a few finishing touches to my plans.
